Loving Gogh
Loving Gogh
Various Gogh exhibitions are still being held around the world. On the other hand, I started from a different phrase “Gogh did not die yet”, and tried to connect between 1890(the year of Gogh’s death) and 2019 with various factors.
In the first step, I designed three OLED(W77 Model) display as windows inside the original masterpiece - [Ariel’s bedroom, 1889]. And with the help of the Gogh museum in Amsterdam, I had a chance to take photographs form Gogh’s cityscapes, landscapes, and portraits. In conclusion, each OLED window presents the three different Gogh’s viewpoint through modern display. After that, I tried to illustrate the process of the 1890’s star lights have come across to the contemporary space through the exhibition walls. Second, I extracted key colors form original masterpieces and applied as practical graphic elements. Lastly, I made special OLED pixel patterns with extracted colors.
Music - At Gogh’s age, the music sector also wanted to express invisible things, like “light, impression”. So I combined classical music, jazz, and electronica.
Future plan - Form that time on, Gogh museum invited me and wanted to collaborate self-promotive exhibition section in the Gogh museum in Amsterdam.

FROM THE POINT OF GOGH'S VIEW

OLED IS FULL OF DARKNESS LIKE GOGH'S LIFE.
THAT'S WHY WE CAN SEE THE MORE LIGHTS VIVIDLY.
